1. Odd Noises Grinding,squeaking, and banging are indications something is very wrong with your garage door's springs, rollers, or opener. Unusual noises are probably the first indicators something is wrong, do not ignore them!

2. Slow or Jerky Moves If your garage door seems to be moving slower thannormal, or if it seems to open or close shakily, it could be an indication of a problem with the motor or tracks and possibly an issue with springs that are too worn.

3. Doesn't Open or Close This one is obvious, but if the door won't move at all or slam shut in the middle of a task, call up repair services as soon as you find the time. Many issues involving a garage door that does not work properly are related to the motors or sensors, but, it could also be an issue with the remote, or something could've internal mechanisms simply wear down.

4. The Door is Sagging or Off-Track Garage doors that are crooked or uneven can easily collapse and harm someone. A door that is sagging or unbalanced needs to be assessed immediately to prevent serious injury to individuals or property. This usually indicates a broken spring orthe door is just off of its tracks.

5. Visible Damage When you inspect your door, if you see a break, crack, damaged track, bent spring and/or even frayed cables, your door may be ok for now..but these are signs your door's hardware need immediate assessment.
